MENT, or trestolone, is one of the most misunderstood compounds in the enhancement space, and most of what circulates about it is wrong in ways that matter. This guide is a pharmacology and risk education document, not a cycle plan: it contains no doses, esters or stacks. It corrects the errors carried in the earlier edition and explains the single most important thing almost nobody knows: the blood test most people use to manage MENT is not measuring what they think it is measuring.

Written for experienced enhanced lifters and coaches who have run or are considering MENT, already do bloodwork, and want the pharmacology rather than forum numbers. It assumes you understand aromatisation, HPG suppression and how to read a standard hormone panel, because it shows where that panel stops working on this compound. It is not for beginners, women, anyone under about twenty-five, anyone planning to conceive, or anyone looking for doses, esters or stacks — it contains none.

What is MENT (trestolone) and why was it developed?

MENT is 7-alpha-methyl-19-nortestosterone. Two edits to testosterone define it: removing the carbon at position 19 puts it in the nandrolone family, and the 7-alpha-methyl group stops the body reducing it to a more androgenic metabolite. It was not built for bodybuilding. The Population Council developed it as a male contraceptive and candidate androgen replacement, on the argument that an androgen which cannot be amplified into DHT in the prostate might be safer for decades of use. Real human studies exist — intravenous, intramuscular and subdermal implant — but they were short, at microgram to low-milligram doses, and there is no long-term human safety data at any dose.

Why can a normal estradiol test be misleading on MENT?

MENT aromatises, but not into estradiol. Human placental microsome work identified the product as 7-alpha-methyl-estradiol, a different molecule with an extra methyl group that is active at the estrogen receptor. A standard estradiol immunoassay may cross-react with it to an undeclared degree; a mass spectrometry estradiol test is precise for estradiol, which is exactly the problem. The practical consequence is that a person on MENT can have a reassuring estradiol number while heavily estrogenised, or can crush their own estradiol chasing a number downward while the metabolite driving symptoms goes unmeasured. What is the real half-life of trestolone acetate?

The earlier edition gave three to five days and, two lines later, advised daily injection — both cannot be true. In men, the free hormone has a terminal half-life of about 40 minutes and was undetectable within three hours of an intravenous dose. The acetate ester stretches that into a working window measured in hours, which is the real reason frequent injection is described. The guide explains what a short half-life means for risk: levels swing rather than sit, a missed injection is a real hormonal drop, the compound clears fast if you stop — but the suppression it caused does not.

Which blood markers actually tell the truth on MENT?

Section 08 rebuilds the monitoring panel with a trust rating for each marker on this specific compound. High trust: home blood pressure, haematocrit and haemoglobin, LH and FSH, ApoB with a full lipid panel, prolactin, and ALT/AST/GGT/CK ordered together so muscle is not mistaken for liver. Low trust: estradiol and SHBG. Misleading: total testosterone, which reads your own suppressed production rather than your androgen load. Draw rules matter as much as the list — same lab, same method, no hard training for 48 to 72 hours, hydrated, and a baseline before anything. FAQ

Is MENT really ten times stronger than testosterone?

That figure comes from a 1992 experiment measuring muscle weight in castrated rats. In the same animals the prostate effect was four times testosterone, not ten. The finding was a ratio — more muscle effect per unit of prostate effect — not a human dose conversion, and potency means it works at a lower dose, not that it has a higher ceiling.

Does MENT cause gynecomastia, and how would you catch it?

The estrogenic route is strong and the usual monitoring test is unreliable, which makes gyno harder to catch early, not easier. Symptoms outrank the assay: a firm, tender disc directly under the nipple is tissue, not fluid, and tissue present for months does not reliably resolve with any drug. The guide's position is to be examined early rather than escalate an inhibitor.

Is MENT a research chemical, and is it legal?

No. It is an unapproved drug that went through human trials and was never brought to market. "Research chemical" is a supply-chain label, not a regulatory category, and it does not make possession lawful anywhere, including India.

What is the detection time for MENT in drug testing?

The three-month figure in the earlier edition has no published basis. MENT is prohibited at all times by WADA, detection depends on which metabolites a laboratory screens for, and no reliable window exists. A tested athlete should assume detectable.
