Grievance Redressal

1. Purpose

We take complaints seriously. This page explains how to raise a grievance, who will handle it, and how long it will take.

This mechanism is published in compliance with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

2. Grievance Officer

The following officer is designated to receive and resolve all grievances relating to this website, including complaints about content, service, payment, and the processing of personal data.

All grievances, of every kind described below, are received and resolved through this office.

3. What you can complain about

  • Content you believe is unlawful, inaccurate, offensive or infringes your rights.
  • Content that infringes your copyright, trademark or other intellectual property.
  • Any matter concerning your personal data, including access, correction, erasure or withdrawal of consent.
  • Billing, subscription, cancellation or refund matters.
  • Any technical problem preventing access to a service you have paid for.
  • Conduct of any person representing this website.
  • Conduct of another member in the Community room directed at you, including harassment, abuse or inappropriate content.
  • Any other concern about how this website operates.

4. How to raise a grievance

Write to the Grievance Officer at the email address above. To allow us to act quickly, include:

  • Your full name and the email address registered with your account.
  • A clear description of the grievance.
  • The specific page, tool, transaction or communication concerned, with a URL or transaction reference where applicable.
  • The outcome you are seeking.
  • Any supporting documents or screenshots.
  • For a complaint about content, an explanation of why you say it is objectionable and, where relevant, evidence of your rights in it.

Anonymous complaints may not be actionable. We may ask you to verify your identity before acting, particularly on data protection requests.

5. Our timelines

Where a matter is complex and cannot be resolved within the stated period, we will tell you before that period expires, explain why, and give a revised date.

6. Our process

6.1 We acknowledge receipt and assign a reference number.

6.2 The Grievance Officer reviews the complaint and any supporting material.

6.3 We may contact you for further information. Delay in your response extends our timeline correspondingly.

6.4 We communicate a reasoned decision in writing, including what action we have taken or why we have declined.

6.5 We maintain a record of every grievance and its resolution.

7. If you are not satisfied

If our response does not resolve your grievance, you may escalate as follows.

7.1 Data protection matters

You may complain to the Data Protection Board of India, established under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, once you have first exhausted this grievance mechanism. The Act requires you to approach us before approaching the Board.

7.2 Consumer matters

You may approach the appropriate Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, or file a complaint through the National Consumer Helpline on 1915 or at consumerhelpline.gov.in.

7.3 Cyber matters

For complaints of a cybercrime nature, you may report at cybercrime.gov.in or to your local cyber cell.

8. Vexatious complaints

We will not act on complaints that are frivolous, repetitive, abusive or made in bad faith, and we reserve the right to decline to correspond further on a matter already answered.
