That range includes sedentary people, and it says nothing about whether your result is optimal, or what it means if you train hard or use testosterone. A laboratory reference range is a statistical band, usually the middle 95% of results from the people that lab tested. It is a screening tool for disease, not a definition of health. A testosterone level at the bottom of the range is technically normal and can still leave you exhausted. A ferritin in range can still be too low for hard training.
Optimal ranges are narrower and aimed at how you actually function and how you age. This tool shows both, so you can see the difference between not sick and dialed in.
Single numbers mislead. Elevated liver enzymes in someone who trains heavily usually reflect muscle damage rather than the liver, which is why the tool checks AST and ALT against creatine kinase before flagging anything. High ferritin with high CRP is an inflammatory response, not iron overload. Low free testosterone with a normal total testosterone points to sex hormone binding globulin, not the testes.
The engine computes what your panel implies but did not directly measure, including estimated free testosterone from total testosterone and SHBG using the Vermeulen equation, insulin resistance via HOMA-IR, kidney filtration via the 2021 CKD-EPI equation, and non-HDL cholesterol.
Most interpreters assume you are not on anything. Feed them a panel from someone on testosterone and they flag half of it as an emergency. That is not useful and it teaches people to ignore genuine warnings.
Set your status to natural, TRT, on cycle, or in PCT, and the interpretation changes accordingly. Suppressed LH and FSH on testosterone is expected, not alarming. Hematocrit rising on androgens is expected, with a real threshold where it stops being expected and starts being a clotting risk. Suppressed HDL on oral compounds is expected and still a genuine cardiovascular cost worth tracking.

At minimum a complete blood count, comprehensive metabolic panel, lipid panel, and a hormone panel with total testosterone, free testosterone, SHBG and sensitive estradiol. Adding ApoB, hs-CRP, HbA1c and fasting insulin gives a far more complete cardiovascular and metabolic picture than the standard panel alone.
AST and ALT are found in muscle as well as liver, so hard training, especially heavy eccentric work, raises them. If creatine kinase is also elevated, muscle is the likely source. Retest after three to five rested days. GGT is more liver specific and is a better marker to watch if you are concerned about the liver itself.
Not necessarily. Creatinine is a breakdown product of muscle, so more muscle means higher creatinine and a lower estimated GFR, without any kidney disease. Cystatin C based estimates are independent of muscle mass and are the better test if a creatinine based result concerns you.
There is no single number. Estradiol rises with testosterone and a higher level on therapy is normal and healthy. Treatment decisions should follow symptoms rather than a lab value, and crashing estradiol causes joint pain, loss of libido and low mood. Use a sensitive assay, because standard immunoassays overestimate estradiol in men.
