The Butcher’s Bill is a 12-week advanced leg specialisation program designed for lifters who already train legs hard but want more complete lower-body development. Instead of treating legs as only quads and hamstrings, the program gives direct attention to seven trainable lower-body units.

What's Inside

  • • Complete 12-week advanced leg specialisation program
  • • Seven lower-body muscle units and exercise selection
  • • Four weekly leg sessions with structured progression
  • • Three phases: Tension, Density and Load
  • • Taper weeks, recovery, nutrition and autoregulation

Who This Guide Is For

Written for advanced lifters with a solid training base who want to specialise in lower-body development and bring up neglected areas beyond the quads and hamstrings. It is not designed as a beginner leg program. The guide recommends at least two years of serious leg training before running the full protocol.

Why does the program train seven lower-body units?

Quads and hamstrings still receive the most work, but glutes, adductors, calves, tibialis anterior and hip flexors also contribute to complete leg development, stability and performance.

How is the program structured?

The week contains four dedicated leg sessions: Knee Drive, Hip Chain, The Margins and The Gauntlet. Two short upper-body sessions are used for maintenance, with one full rest day.

What are the three phases?

The program moves through Tension, Density and Load phases. Volume peaks during the middle phase, while heavier loading becomes the priority in the final phase.

How is fatigue controlled?

Weeks 4, 8 and 12 are taper weeks. Set volume is reduced while training load is maintained, allowing fatigue to drop without completely backing away from heavy training.

FAQ

Who is The Butcher’s Bill designed for?

It is designed for advanced lifters with at least around two years of serious leg training who want a dedicated lower-body specialisation phase.

How many times per week do you train legs?

The full program uses four leg sessions per week: Knee Drive, Hip Chain, The Margins and The Gauntlet.

Does the program only train quads and hamstrings?

No. It targets seven lower-body units, including glutes, quadriceps, hamstrings, adductors, calves, tibialis anterior and hip flexors.

What are the three phases of the program?

The program progresses through Tension, Density and Load. Volume reaches its highest point in the middle phase, while heavier loading becomes the main priority in the final phase.
